Drawing a head looking down, drawn with fibre pen and charcoal. Roughly 25 minutes to create, sped up to 6 mins. Starting with the lay-in and a simple circle, I work out the central line of the face to work out the head's angle. I then use vertical and horizontal axis & lines to help me place all of the important features. The fun begins after, and we can work out the darkest areas of the portrait, adding highlights, and adding mid-tones. And there you go, the finished portrait!
