Indonesia had been influenced for more than 300 years by Dutch and some art deco architecture, the legacy are still standing up to present but sadly most of them are destroyed. Some other photos telling the daily life during an old era. This board will tell you the stories.
Everytime I pass this old building I can't stop admiring it as it is still very well taken care of. Left 1940, the ex Immigration Office of Central Jakarta around 1970-2000 then it became Budha Bar then now it's Kuntskring something.Right 2012.

It was such a beautiful art deco building called Club de Harmonie, photo was taken in 1911. It's a prestigious place for dancing only for the Europeans. I was still saw it during 80's but then sadly this was destroyed nothing left behind....

This is gang (small street) of Scott - don't understand why it is called in a western name (photo taken in 1875)- currently it is called Budi Kemuliaan in central Jakarta. It looks the same except those big coconut trees are not exist replaced by buildings. There was once a very famous discotheque where expats and foreigners loved to hang out (1970-1990 something) it was called Tanamur not far from here but it's just a history now.

Business area in Kalibesar Timur 1937, the Dutch built the business area which was closed to Sunda Kelapa Harbour. Nowadays these old buildings are still there looks ugly and abandoned good news is it's now being restored hopefully we can enjoy the original buildings soon since this area is really historical.
