Last year when Debbie sent us a bunch of Kaffe Fassett fabric for her month in the Threads Together Quilting Bee, I made this log cabin block for her, and decided I wanted to make a whole quilt just like that. All done and the binding will be in either the red from the center squares or the cream background print. So nice to work with these mixed pieces that I have cut for Log Cabins! Pictures & comments in Piecing 2014 Set 1.

All done :) I really debated about the border. I was going to do some light squares on point with the darks as background for them, but they were just too distracting. I tried a number of fabrics for the border and then found this one and was pleased the moment I laid it out. This is a very tiny navy and white houndstooth check that had been one of the many tablecloths I had made. Our dining room table was the undisputed heart of our family, so this is a very fitting finish for this quilt…
