Capes were really popular in the 1940's in British fashion because they were seen as bomb shelter covers. This attributes to why they were so over-sized. The overall shape of this cape is very similar, with a few marked differences. This cape isn't made out of wool, like the traditional ones. It also lacks a hod, and has a cute bow detail, which was not practical back then. -Marissa Smith
