HOMEMADE KALUHA 24 cups brewed coffee, using freshly ground espresso beans. 1 5-lb. bag of sugar (approx 10 cups) 1 1.75 L bottle of Skyy Vodka 1 750mL bottle of EJ Brandy 8 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract Brew coffee. Add sugar stir until it dissolves. Allow to cool to room temperature. Add vodka, brandy, and vanilla. Bottle, label, and if possible allow it to sit for at least 2 weeks in a cool dark place.
Homemade Kahlua For any of you interested in making this, make sure you plan ahead. You have to make the Kahlua and then let is set for six weeks. I made mine in the middle of November, so they would be ready to give by Christmas and the recipients could have a drink right away. Homemade Kahlua: 2 cups hot water 2 cups sugar 1 tablespoon instant coffee 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 cups vodka 1/2 cup good brandy
"My mom started making this recipe in 1960. I have been making it since the 1970's to give as Christmas presents. It is one of the best homemade Kaluha recipes I have ever tried.
