"Lullaby Factory": Looking like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, this art installation on the side of the Great Ormond Street (children's) Hospital in London plays on the building's Victorian origins by adding "musical pipes" to the existing exterior piping. The narrow space between the two hospital wings is now a fanciful musical instrument, playing lullabies for the young patients. The music is also carried via radio to patients unable to see it in person. | Studio Weave (2013)
This art installation got my attention because it shows that all of us are where we are by the grace of those who hold us up. Whether they are alive or they are ancestors gone before, they a part of who we are now. Even if you dislike yourself, you have to contemplate the sheer force of human will, and the person or persons you will be holding up in the future.
