Mother's Day Edition: Fine Motor Friday!!

LOVE THIS FOR THE WRITING CENTER!-----Kindergarten name writing center using student names. This will help with learning names and making new friends at the beginning of the year.

Toothpick and Gumdrop Construction: Cost: $1 for the box of toothpicks and $1 for each boy a giant box of gumdrops SOO FUN!!!  Definitely will do this again.  Great for Cub Scouts - could use for constellations or for science molecules.  Fun for FHE, too!  Fun but my kids may eat all the gumdrops!

After reading Seuss's Apples Up On Top, have students create their name apples on top of their first day photo.  If you use 3 different colors you can teach an ABCABC pattern, as well as that science fact.  There's also a graphing extension for how many letters students have in their name.  FREE templates.

14 Wall art with toilet paper rolls - Creativity has no limits. Toilet paper rolls - for somebody just a piece of trash,for others inspiration for useful items in the household.

I wish I had seen this last year when I taught Kindergarten!  Includes an easy reader booklet about the shapes ending with "This penguin is in the shape of my shoe, a keepsake especially for you!"

Silly Shape Penguins - Great for PreK shape recognition. This would make a fun craft project for a classroom!

Truth be told, I would probably play with this today.  I play with the little doorknobs displays at Lowe's. . .

Could also connect a bunch of locks and put all the keys on a key ring. Lots of pictures of latch, lock, etc ideas for montessori type preschool. This lock one could be made with 2 boards, some o-rings, and some locks from Dollar Store.
