C E Neon signs in cities are a major source of colored light in the real world and I enjoy the aesthetics of their high intensity and saturation. I think they can create a fun and lively atmosphere. Also it shows an example of how one could use vibrant lights to create the look of a city like DWL 1/11 mentions that color is used in developing mood and environment. DWL 11 mentions that lighting is used to develop environments and that there are different colors for different times of day. It also says how the sky isn't always dark blue at night, it can be other colors like green or purple, and thus it is not good to limit your thinking. DWL Ch 1 talks about how sunny days invoke positive moods and thus bright lighting also can create this mood and I absolutely agree with that. I usually feel in a happier mood when it is sunny so I decided to include an image with high intensity sunlight that to exemplify how that can affect mood like DWL talks about

I chose this image because I enjoy when theatrical lighting uses moving or flashing lights to recreate the effect of the characters/audience moving, for instance I think Cabaret may have done this for the train scenes. 2 C Another instance of moving lights are the flashing lights of ambulances and other emergency vehicles. I chose this image which symbolizes these flashing lights because it's another instance of moving light in real life. The flashing helps convey the nature of there being an emergency and I Iike when lights flash in movies/theater to create the feeling of danger. While both flashing and flickering create a sense of danger, there is more urgency with flashing lights.
