✨3 Things to Remember: IV Meds & Fluids ✨ | www.anurseinthemaking.com
🔊PSA, future nurses: The days & nights get BUSY (and that can be an understatement)! Always be sure to: 🏷️Label new tubing with date, time, initials 📅Change out the tubing if you’re unsure of how long it’s been in use 💉Use separate tubing for different secondary medications, primary infusions, or any fluids which are incompatible with primary infusion 🖋️Label bags of reconstituted meds with a complete label (Med, dose, time, date, initials) ✅Check infusion rates, compatibility, patient allergies, etc. DO NOT expect or assume the computer will catch it. You’re the last one before that medication enters their system, so always be aware & attentive! Who’s been caring for IV lines at clinicals?! #nursingnotes #nurses #nursing #RN #BSN #nursingskills #nurseinthemaking
