A wonderful book from Malaysia's top cartoonist Lat. It's a completely universal story about childhood, yet it also captures a unique time and place, life in the country in Malaysia in the 1950s. Very accesible for all ages. Lat's style of cartooning is oddly similar to American "Mad" cartoonist Sergio Aragones, but that's not a bad thing. There's also a sequel, "Town Boy".
